Does anyone know anything about the above company? I sent them a lens to clean over a week ago, and it is sitting unclaimed in the post office depot, and they do not respond to email or the phone. I'm assuming something unpleasant must have happened such as serious illness, but I am unable to find out anything. Thanks.

I'd get your lens back from the depot asap. Something feels wrong about their w-site IMHO.

RJL2005: I was given their name by a camera shop who use them for repairs. So I think they are kosher. Which is why I think something unexpected has happened e.g. illness.

Yes the web site is very simple which can be a sign of a scam, but I don't think this is one.

It turns out that the fault was with Royal Mail for not updating the online status of the parcel, and my email service provider for rejecting incoming email from LLAMAS as spam, despite my having sent emails to them. Apologies to LLAMAS for any confusion. Ain't technology wonderful ...

I have used their "Recorded, Signed For" service(?) on a few occasions, and I am not impressed! More than once, there has been no record in the on-line check system, and on 3 attempts this year to send letters to the same address using this service, from South Lincolnshire to Milton Keynes (approx. 60 miles south), the letters have gone to Selkirk (approx. 265 miles north) before being delivered.
The correct postcode was used.

I've regularly been using Royal Mail and Parcel Force for years, and I have never had a problem with Special Delivery and recorded mail. As for ordinary mail, well I had a heart attack when my late mother told me she had sent an item I left at her house to me in the post. I knew it would not arrive, and it didn't. Lots of items go missing. It is hardly surprising as post men do things like leave a parcel on a doorstep (it happened to me only last week).
