I don't get many shots of these little birds....they're usually too restless for the digiscoper.
The background is quite different, with the red stems of an unknown plant diffused with the shallow focus... so not how I saw it with my own eyes but how the camera lens see's it.

Real cute Andy, a lovely shot both technically and artistically.

They are a bird I have yet to get a decent shot of.

An excellent picture Andy.
I have just read the Simon Barnes article in Birds (RSPB Spring 2003) and whilst I do not agree with all he says, this and the other great photos posted on this Forum show how beautiful the more common birds are, if only we stop and notice them.

Thanks guys, this is one of those shots that's ended up looking more like a painting than a photo.... I had a B-H Gull shot that looked similar. Candyfloss on a stick as someone said about L-T Tits.

In all honesty, I'm not sure this is a 'keeper'.... the head is slighlty blurred on the full size image and may not make it to a large print... may look o.k. as a 7x5 or 8x6.

These birds are a real challenge for digiscopers or those with manual focus lenses to get off-feeder. Patience and oral shutter-release in my case.

Rob: Nice avatar.... cheque in the post, is it? ;)
Regards,
Andy B

Andy,

Sorry about that Andy, but as soon as the front page downloaded with that picture on I was amazed at the clarity. It has made me realise that digiscoping is an avenue I will really need to explore. As I have never really even used a camera before it is a tad daunting though, especially as it seems that everyone is an expert.

As soon as I get a photo of my own I will change the picture and wear MY avatar with pride.

Cheers & Sorry Andy.

Very good picture Andy of this very fidgety little bird.
It shows it exquisite beauty to the full.
Lovely

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Someone suggested that I'd used birdlime to get the L-T Tit to stay still ;)

Rob Hope: No problem, nice to see my pic on someone else's avatar... I'd never refuse a request to use one of my pics for that purpose. If you have any questions on the method, just post away in the digiscoping forum.

Mike: No excuses for you from now on 3:)
Regards,
Andy

bit late...but, Andy that is a top shot. That would be a keeper for me anyday :) You must be able to get that scope lined up pretty quick to be able to catch one of those! :t:

Now Andy that is absolutely beautiful... I personally love how the light is bouncing off this bird. Very very nice indeed.
