Mallard with dwarfism? (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

Take a look at this Mallard which is about 1/2 - 2/3 the size, in most respects, of a normal Mallard. You can see a normal Mallard to the right.

I first saw this bird last year, so it is doing ok.

I tried to think what it could be a hybrid with but cant see any clues, wondering if it is just a "dwarf"?

The "stubby" bill + very rounded crown, lending "cute" look to the head makes me think you've got a Call Duck there. These are a breed of domestic Mallard.
