Malta massacre. (1 Viewer)

I would hope this is just an instant reaction comment. The hell that Malta endured is not negated by the actions of some, nor by the failures of the Maltese government and the EC.

From Bonnie Scotland where poisoning, trapping, feudalism and political chicanery continue to "encourage" wildlife.

No, I've thought about this very carefully over a long time and come to the conclusion that if we can't finish what the Luftwaffe started, we should at least make it clear the Maltese have fallen from grace.

I have not and will not visit Malta while the annual slaughter is taking place. Although actions from the E.U might improve the situation I think it would require widespread support from the Maltese themselves to bring about a lasting change. No one likes being lectured by outside parties and intervention by other agencies could actually have a negative effect.

raptor camp 2014

Hello, if anyone has heard any rumours on whether the Malta raptor camp is likely to go ahead in Septermber this year, I'd be very interested.

I did ask them directly back in March, but it sounded they were a bit busy with organising the spring camp and hadn't decided on the autumn yet.

(Mind you, with Mr Packham's extra publicity, I suspect they'll be swamped with helpers this autumn so I doubt if I'll get a look in anyway!)

Wrote to all seven of the MEPs representing the SE and got a reply from two of them, both of whom, to their credit had signed a letter protesting about the Maltese slaughter of spring birds by MEPs sent to the relevant EU body. The two who replied were the Lib Dem and the Green - no answer at all from the other 5 including Mr Farrage. Chris Packham's campaign is obviously having some impact though since it had a mention on Radio 4's 'The Now Show' this evening.
