The first is another photo taken pre interest in birding. I apologise for the poor quality of the image - the bird I’m looking at is standing to the right of the wooden perch, with its dark head bent slightly.

The second photo is also poor quality but not taken too far away. This is also in Leeds and was taken in September 2021.

As suggested in answer to your first post - I am half way like the chem prof said - I can say the first pic is cormorant, but not what the second one is with enough confidence.

😂 Well it is Saturday night!

The cormorants I have seen are dark all over - it was the white of this bird that threw me.
