Hiya folks!
Back from Scotland, pretty tired
I came back from Scotland yesterday, and i've had a great time! Such a beautiful part of UK and so different from the rest of the UK. We departed by ferry on wednesday last week and arrived at Newcastle next morning. Stupid enough, we had some junkfood just before boarding the boat, so nausea took its chance. I thrwe up twice before arriving at the other side of the North Sea and was not feeling well. We went to the train station and took the train to Glasgow. Beautiful sights you have, traveling by train! The entire coastline was very clear in view from of the train and i really enjoyed that part already! We arrived in Glasgow and took a bus to Stepps where we had a campsite. We put up the tents and relaxed the rest of the evening. Next day we went on a 'Discovering Scotland' trip, which went all the way past Loch Lomond and Loch Ness, to Inverness and then back at a more eastern way. We saw many things and the nature is awesome! I however didn't see that many birds. I have seen some probable pheasants but according to my book they crossed their living border. So i'd rather seclude them from the eventual options, but i couldnt make a grouse of it
I might have seen an Osprey on the way back but that was just a quick sight. When back in Glasgow we went to the local pub in Stepps and had a Bell's there. Next day we traveled on to Edinburgh. Now that is an awesome city! Didnt go and watch the Fireworks saturday because i was too tired. Sunday morning we visited a Vineyard Congregation which was awesome too. The afternoon was spent on seeing the cathedral in Edinburgh and relax on the campsite. Monday we headed back for Newcastle and took the ferry back. Did see Gannets and Blackbacks on the ferry. Might have seen a whitetailed eagle from the train but neither was i sure of that. After all not much of a birding trip but it convinced me of coming back another time!!!
Thanks to everyone with helping me giving advice on the trip!
Cheers
