How's is it going fellow birders? Just want to say hello from New Mexico and look foward to meeting some of you and learning as much as possible from your experiences. Its hard to find fellow birders to go on hikes and walks with, so I found this forum and hopefully meet some cool people willing to share. I have always been an outdoors guy but for some reason, my life has really changed focus and birds are just my thing now. I get excited with newly discovered species (new to me) and I feel in touch with my soul when I am outside. Cheers and look forward to talking with you. Also, I saw my first wild Bald eagle today which was exhilarating.

Welcome to Birdforum! I am sure that you will find lots to interest you here and I hope that you enjoy your visits. Congratulations on the bald eagle.

Hi Jason and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators.

Thanks and dumb question, but do I have to wait for a period of time to change my profle pic? I dont see an option on my profile page.
There's no 'dumb' questions here... just questions LOL.

There are a few restrictions placed on new members, one of which includes editing an avatar until you have been a member for 5 days and have 10 forum posts.

The time will soon pass, I'm sure.

I hope you enjoy your time here with us and I look forward to hearing your news.

There is nothing better than a combination of hiking and birding Jason! :)
I had planned a long hike through New Mexico last year (Continental Divide Trail) but obviously had to cancel because of Covid. I'm aiming at 2022 now...
