New Old Binoculars (1 Viewer)

Just joined here because of my love of the outdoors, bird and wildlife viewing, and also a fascination of vintage optics. I have collected quite a few of the praised spotting scopes from back when build quality was great. Learned about some binoculars that fit that description and I am amazed by the knowledge members have. This pair is a Swift Audubon 8.5 x 44. They are model 804 with a s/n 4-64735. They are most of the things members said they would be, and I am happy to own them.

Hi again Ald Beagle - as you've already said Hello in your other thread. I've moved this post to the Binocular forum, which would seem to be more appropriate.

Welcome, and may you have much enjoyment from your new purchase. There are a lot of old binoculars out there that are well made and still very capable of giving much joy to users. I still see the odd older Audubon in the field, mostly in the hands of older gents, but the last one I saw was being used by a young birder that must have been about a third the age of the binocular.
