Newcomer needing help for identification ! (1 Viewer)

Hi everyone !

I just discovered this site and I’m pleased to join the community ! I have a little question about a bird that flew over me in Thailand. It has black and had 1 big white dot on each underside of his wings

Any suggestions ? I’m in the north of Thailand in Chiang Mai which his a big city

Hi Mortimerthebird and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators here at Birdforum.

I think we need a little more information really. Can you give some idea of the size.. maybe as large as an eagle or perhaps small like a bulbul? When you say "black" do you mean the bird was an overall black colour or did it have black streaks or spots. Did you see his bill (long and pointed, or short and stubby.... colour?) Anything along these lines would help.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I look forward to hearing your news.

Of course!! I should have known that, as I saw one in Queensland. I forgot the comment about the white patches under the wings!
