Hi.
Really, which is the difference between this "New" P7 or P5 and the old Monarch M7 or M5?
The price is very similar... Worth?
thanks.
PG.

According to the technical specs, P7 is similar to or even a bit better than the old Monarch 7. P7 has a bit wider apparent field of view and a locking diopter. However, I do not have hands-on experience with P7 so cannot comment on the sharpness and other real-world difference between both bins.

When comparison with P7 and P5, the only difference I found is that P7 has dielectric coating while P5 has silver mirror coating.

So the way I interpret the models....
P3/P7- "P" stands for Prostaff model which Nikon has made for quite a while. Kind of like M5/M7 when the "M" stand for Monarch. The P/Prostaff models are some of Nikons economy models. The M/Monarch are a step up in quality.
