It looks like some sort of finch but I've never seen one like this before, sorry for the poor pictures.

It looks like a Grosbeak. If you tell us where the photograph was taken it would help in making an accurate ID.

Well, they arrive every spring and leave every fall here in the east - this Rose-breasted Grosbeak's an adult male.

that storm we had about ten days or so ago seems to have braught teh grossbeaks into areas of Jersey where they normally are not. Was actually inteh local paper last week
