It looks like some sort of finch but I've never seen one like this before, sorry for the poor pictures.

I'm in Central NJ. I have never seen this type of bird before, stayed on the window feeder for a LONG time.

Hi MJG,

Well, they arrive every spring and leave every fall here in the east - this Rose-breasted Grosbeak's an adult male.

that storm we had about ten days or so ago seems to have braught teh grossbeaks into areas of Jersey where they normally are not. Was actually inteh local paper last week :)
