Pink headed duck (1 Viewer)

Hi there and a warm welcome to you from those of us on staff here at BirdForum :t:

Have no idea about your query but hopefully someone will be along and have some answers for you

Hi Richard and a warm welcome from me too.

It appears this species may well be extinct; this article gives the last information we have on them. However, I've moved your post to the Information Wanted forum, as it will likely be seen by more members in there.

I have subscribed you to this thread so you can keep track of it more easily.

There was a Birdlife expedition to Myanmar a few years ago following up vague reports of Pink-headed Duck still surviving there. One member of the team thought he saw one bird but the other team-members who saw it were unconvinced that it was one.

India is much better watched than Myanmar and nobody there has reported the species for a long time. I guess it has gone.

Steve
