This pipit was seen in Dushanbe, Tajikistan a week or two ago. The observers listed it as Meadow Pipit, and it looks okay for Meadow Pipit to my inexpert eyes. The hotspot where it was seen has wintering Red-throated and Water Pipits. It doesn't look right for Red-throated because of the back pattern and belly spotting, but I wanted to be sure we could eliminate Water Pipit (Western). The legs are lighter, breast spots darker, and the supercilium less distinct than I'd expect for Water.
