Plover or Sandpiper (1 Viewer)

Currently having an argument with someone elsewhere online as to what these are. The photographer insists they are a plover but I think those beaks are way to long to be plover beaks. It's an an American beach and I'm only familiar with Aussie waders. Anyone want to ID these fellas?

Yep, I have seen Sanderling a few times, which is why they struck me as being them. Small, stintlike waders on sand.
