...are all over this, they are the most experienced body in the UK at successfully prosecuting wildlife crime and, as someone who's been involved in investigating these crimes and helping in their prosecution, I can tell you that they are extremely tough to get convictions on. I suspect that the RSPB are keeping their powder dry because they're keenly aware of the danger of subjudicy. That's absolutely the right approach - the last thing they want is to give a magistrate a reason to throw out a case or the CPS a reason to not take it forward.

Wonderful news Nelbert. Thank you.

Let's hope the extra dimensions to this case don't make their efforts futile.

Quote "Sadly, as I assume, these are CROWN estates.
They are then considered above the law.
As in:-
The nation cannot smoke in any public/ private
place i.e. clubs, pubs etc. But, your M.Ps can in
Westminster only because it's CROWN Property!!!"

Is this really true?

If it is I case it means that no crime has been committed so unfortunately you're right and nothing will become of it

I'm not sure if crown estate are above the law in this way, but it doesn't matter because Sandringham is not part of the Crown Estate. Like Balmoral, it is the Queen's private property, and not a residence that is linked to the position of monarch.

But back to the original subject matter.

Assuming that there is sufficient evidence that hen harriers were shot (ie. the witnesses are reliable, or the corpses were recovered), there must surely be a very high likelihood of a successful prosecution.

Regardless of whether Prince Harry or his friends were responsible, they were in the same area that the incident occurred, presumably with Royalty Protection Officers. It is extremely unlikely that there could have been other people shooting in that area without the Protection Officers knowing who they were.

In these circumstances, failure to be able to prosecute would suggest a blatant cover-up.

Here is one

Is this the truth or are you guessing?

Steve,

I live in Ashford. I'm aware that she has been
shooting on the Brabourne Estate. This is common
knowledge down here. I've no 'truck' with that.
Everybody has the right to ENJOY themselves.
As was mentioned by someone earlier. A dog
retrieved an injured bird during a shoot. Dropped
it at her feet she then dispatched it by breaking
it's neck. Good for her not to let the bird suffer.
It's not a thing just anybody can do. Experience
comes with practice!

young Ian.

You haven't answered the question? You said she "loves to kill birds for fun" is this a fact or not?

In the interests of allowing the mods to continue to be tolerant in their difficult work I think it would be sensible to take the advice offered.

While I make no apology for my passion in regard to the topic, I would apologise to anyone who feels they may have been personally insulted by my posts. That was never the intention.

Steve,
Be honest with yourself. No cleaver jiggery-
pokery with words. When going out on a 'shoot'
it's for fun, to socialise, to have a laugh. If one
doesn't have fun then why go?
If you can,HAND ON HEART,say I'm not correct
in assuming this. Then there's nothing more to say.
But, deep down you know I am right. However
unpalatable it is.

Kindest regards
young Ian.

Could members be aware, we are considering the splitting of this thread, as it has drifted well off from the initial Hen Harrier topic.

The topic currently in question deserves it's own thread (even i started one on BF along very similar lines years ago!!).

Regards,
Andy

Sounds a good idea Andy.

My apologies for any part I have had in the drift,

Not my navigation though, when the wind is against the tide, who knows where we end up?

:)
