Hello all .
Just thought about reading all the interesting comments about the red tails . We’ve had a nesting pair for the last 5 years and they have just returned about 2 weeks ago in central NY ( 13407 ) Hope all goes well for them this year as last year the nest was invaded and no off spring… thanks for this page

Lucky you to have such great raptors close at hand. Even finding their nests can be challenging, let alone watching offspring develop. You should have an interesting spring season with those great birds nearby, but they might knock down the population of prey animals in the neighborhood. I was lucky enough to host kestrels a few years back at my cabin in central NY, and they definitely had an impact on the neighborhood while in residence.
