Robin chased off but by what? (1 Viewer)

I have a visiting Robin in my garden. It was sat on a trellis when, another bird of a similar size, chased it off.

It happened quickly and I could not see what the aggressive bird was. I know Robins are territorial between themselves but is it likely that similar sized garden species would take on Robins?

Almost certainly another robin, they're settling into new territories in September and are beginning to sing with some gusto. I've often seen robins chase dunnocks mercilessly but never the other way round!
