Robin flight (1 Viewer)

Yesterday I noticed an paleish colored American Robin with a short tail on my porch, it didn’t move as I got closer too it, but then it tried to fly to a nearby tree and ran into it, walked up the roof, and hopped to a branch. It sat there for like 4 hours. She is still going from tree to tree but is constantly panting, having issues flying, and flys loudly. Is she young and learning to fly or is this something I should worry about?

Hi Yerbua and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators. It sounds to me as if this bird is ill. Can you look for a wildlife rehabber in your area, they may know what is wrong and can advise accordingly.

Meanwhile we have some general guidelines here for the care of injured and baby birds. Please let us know how you get on.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I look forward to hearing your news.
