Hi, thank you for having me, i live in the north west of England, i have a bluetit roosting in my bird box, will i need to remove the bird poop before nesting time?.

Welcome to Birdforum. I hope you enjoy your visits.

It might be an idea to clean out the box in the next couple of weeks.

Hi denbo and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I look forward to hearing your news.

My bird box has a 32mm opening, the bluetit is still roosting, I am in a quandary as to whether or not to replace the opening to 25mm.

Do you think that it would frighten them off, I have had great tits looking at it over the last few days, this morning 2 bluetits were going in and out, would the great tits take it over?.

Personally I'd leave it, that way it'll get used by either GT or BT, but I can understand why u may want to make it smaller. 🤔🤷

I’d see what happens this year - there’s always next year if you want to change something!
