We're off up into Cumbria in the morning via RSPB Marshside a super reserve especially at this time of year as you just never know what'll drop in as it passes over.

We'll be staying almost next door to RSPB Leighton Moss so no doubt will be woken by the wonderful sound of the wildfowl as well as our usual morning visits from lots of these! (see pic)

A few trips to Morecambe Bay are also on the agenda as well as a couple of Wainwrights fell walks so lets hope the weather is kind to us to allow the superb views once we've climbed to the tops!

Take care everyone and I'll see you in a week.

I'm jealous.o:D As you know I really like the Silverdale/Arnside area. So peaceful. You give me some ino of an area near by too Ruth and I'm definately thinking of having a few days over there in 2009. No need for a car there as I can use train and feet.;)

Have a supa dupa trip.:t:

Have a brilliant holiday Ruth!! Looks like you might just catch the last of the Summer sun up there in the next week so I hope you did pack your shorts after all!!! Hope you get a few migrant birds to add to your list, I am looking forward to your write up and a few piccies......would be nice to see a Bittern!!!;)o:D

Have a safe journey!!!:t:

Ooooh I'm jealous too - I LOVE Leighton Moss and Neil has often said we should book up a caravan in that area for a holiday.

I'm just 'up the road' from you at Glenridding, next to Ullswater and will be popping down the M6 to spend a day at LM sometime this coming week :t: Hopefully there'll be some great birds around AND the red deer will be rutting too - I've always wanted to see and hear the rut for myself (seen it millions of times on tv but never actually experienced it 'live' )....just hoping I haven't taken my holiday too early :-O
