At first I thought this was a WESA but after reviewing photos I'm not so sure. This is from central MT, any tips on IDing birds like this are much appreciated.

idk but I wasn't expecting it, I had someone on iNat also say sanderling. second time in my life to see these guys!
 
Thanks guys, honestly I have no idea why I did not think sanderling when I first saw it. This is the second record for the county for eBird, although that is not saying too much because there are only a handful of us in Fergus.
