Hi All,

I'm in talks with Pablo Florez to go for the Santa Marta wren and blue Bearded Helmetcrest (and any other isolated high altitude species we can get) in December 2016. Provisinal dates 14-21 december.

Anyone interested to join?

KR,

I'm planning on birding Colombia from 11 December 2016 - 15 January 2017. I haven't thought too much about the trip yet (planning a few others in between) but I would be interested.

I'd be interested. But I'd be quite keen to spend some time in those mountains and do some hiking/climbing as well. I don't know if that's a possibility at all?

Well, it'll be hiking all the way up to the right altitude. :-D

As far as I understand it's about a 2 day hike up to the right altitude / area. Pablo reckons we'll need about 6-7 days total (of which 4 days are effectively hiking up/down the mountain. If we're lucky we'll have the birds right away, but It appears safer to allow for a few days to search for 'em. :)
