Just ordered my first binoculars!:
Zeiss SFL 8x30s.

Though I’ve never** owned binoculars before, my eyes have been blessed with the privilege of seeing through Research-grade and Surgical Zeiss microscopes for almost 50 years.

My first glance through a loaned pair of Swarovski ELs, was like eye candy! I knew I would really enjoy having fine glass at home too, to ease me into re-wire-ment!

**(wait… I do have a pair of awesome little “Zeiss aus Jena” surgical loupes!)

Hi, welcome to the forum on behalf of the staff and moderators. I think you will find us a friendly and helpful group.

Hi Safeyes and a warm welcome from me too.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I hope to hear about all the birds you see when out and about.

Hi Harry! I just unboxed my first binoculars! I’m speechless at what my eyes behold! Just focusing on the lawn is overwhelming beauty. Got a peek at a couple bluebirds whispering to each other on a wire at dusk. I could see the blue though everything was merging to greys. From what I know about vision, I know that the binocular’s optics are bypassing my undiagnosed, age-appropriate, very early cataracts. Glory be!
