Scotland Day Trip (1 Viewer)

My sister has given me the opportunity to go to Scotland, but only for a day trip, in mid-November
Leave at 3am probably not drive much more than ~6 hrs. (Yes we're going to drive there)
Looking for good opportunities to see a large variety of species, especially some which I'm less likely to see in England.
Not really got any target species, other than potentially an eagle, but really looking for a lot of variety instead.

TIA for any help

If time is limited and you're travelling up from England, I'd suggest the Lothian coast e.g. Musselburgh, Aberlady etc. Should be good for seaduck, grebes, divers etc. in November. Maybe Twite, Purple Sandpipers. Will often be a rarity or two around as well.

An alternative option if you're travelling up from west England could be Dumfriesshire. There you'll have access to Mersehead, Wood of Cree and Caerlaverock, all excellent reserves, among others. They're probably at their best in midwinter, but would still be worth a visit in November.

I know its too late but if you ever go back consider going to cairngorms. Golden eagles, White tailed eagles (only 2 pairs), ospreys, capercaile, black grouse, all 5 owls etc
