Siberian or European Stonechat - Iran (different times and locations) (1 Viewer)

Hello all,

I have these photos which I took in different places in Iran, at different times. I identified them all as Siberian Stonechat, but I want to double-check them here. Also, I appreciate it if you tell me the key differences between these species IDs. (you can see the exact time and location on the photos)

Apart from the fact that armenicus is now a junior synonym of S. m. variegatus, this plate should show some of the subspecies of both taxa before the split: Plate 41 - Pipits, stonechats and whinchats - A Field Guide to Birds of Armenia ::Acopian Center for the Environment (with clickable photos). Your last picture (unstreaked orangeish rump) looks like a good match for the picture of S. m. maurus.

All except 2-3-4 look perfect for Siberian. I'm not sure about those 3, what is the status of rubicola in Iran?

Sorry that I'm answering after so many days. rubicola has the distribution like maurus, just less frequent and mostly in west and northwest of Iran.
