Hi Folks
When I was a child my Grandfather would use
the term "Silly Goose" (often referring to his wife)
and I used to wonder why it was that Geese
were silly
Now I know!
Yesterday I watched this Greylag Pair as
they took their 6 fluffy goslings from the safety
of the emerging reeds, into the water and along
the edge to the muddiest bit, through the thick mud
to the other side and into the water again (they could
have just gone into the water on that side in the
first place!) and then deciding they didn't like there
anyway, took them back through the mud and back
to where they'd started from!?
This pointless exercise was fraught with danger!
There were several Marsh Harriers about
and who knows what lurked in the water :eek!:
And at times I wondered if the youngsters would make it
through the mud!
Thankfully they did! :t:
