Small Alcids in San Juan Islands, Washington (August 12, 2022) (1 Viewer)

Just finished a trip around Washington and these two small Alcids are giving me a hard time. Both birds were much smaller than the nearby Rhinoceros Auklets and Common Murre that were foraging in the beach (about a third or half the size from the aforementioned species).

My guess is that both are a species of Murrelet due to the small size, but beyond that I'm stumped. Any ID help would be appreciated.

Yep, that checks out, can't believe I forgot about the possibility of juvenile Guillemots considering how often I'd see adults and everything else had fledged chicks in the trip.

Thank you!
