Snowfinches in Pyrenees (1 Viewer)

Anybody got any good, easy to get to i.e no 5 mile hike up a mountain, sites for Snowfinches. Preferably near to the Hecho/Anso/Roncal area. May manage to do the Picos de Europa as well, where they are supposed to be easier, but it depends on time available. Also any recent Wallcreeper updates in Hecho area?
Any info much appreciated.
Oh, no rush as I'm not going until Saturday!!!

thanks

Nick

Some years ago I had Snowfinch just over the Franco-Spanish border in France in the Arrette Pierre St Martin area. This is roughly due due north of Hecho & accessible via Anso & the Roncal valley. I also had Alpine Accentor & Citril Finch there. Good luck,

Thanks for the info (although didn't see it until I got back) by a coincidence did actually try the area you mention but no luck although did have Citril Finch and Alpine Accentor there. Couldn't complain too much though as we had just got wallcreeper in Hecho Valley (at the Garbadito site) and also got Dupont's Lark later in the week (near Sepulveda).

Cheers

Ah! the famed Dupont's Lark site near Sepulveda. I heard at least four singing very clearly there last year but they just wouldn't show themselves. A fabuous area for birding though, eh Nick? I'll definitely return.

Hiya

picos will certainly be easier....u can get the exciting cable car up there too.....still a bit of a walk

otherwise I think you'll have a bit of a trek to catch up with them.....

Wallcreepers were in Hecho valley in very narrow part where rock sides come right down over road last year at least
