Barn Owl / Woodcock

I have been checking out my local patch TL9846 more thoroughly over the past couple of years. As I now have more time on my hands, I hope to post here some highlights.

Yesterday popped out to try to see our local Buzzards come back to roost. As if on cue, 1 bird turned up just before dark. It was soon too dark for scoping 4.10pmish so we packed up to walk home. Nearly dark now and came across a lone Barn Owl quartering the field alongside the lane. After trying in vain to use my scope we watched it for a few minuites until it disappeared into the night. So started packing away again and a Woodcock flew past about 30 ft away.

So I'm on a high!
