I saw these birds in West Texas 2 weeks ago.

I'll take a flyer at these. But I'm no sparrow expert and expect to be corrected! It's how I learn.

1) Cassin's -- a rather drab bird with indistinct super, small eyering and what might be faint flank streaks if my monitor's not fooling me
2) Clay-colored -- contrasty face with bold super, prominent mustachial stripe, what appear to be fairly light lorals; no breast streaking
3) Vesper -- prominent eyering and pale-centered auriculars, streaky breast and flanks
4) Sage -- bright white eyering on gray face and head, faint streaking on upper back, can make out throat stripe. Gray legs.
