Now that Minolta is no longer a name to be reckoned with in the camera or binocular area, would anyone know if the Activa range is still being delivered to the UK market, but under a different name?

Over the years I've acquired pairs of
7x35W Porro prism - bough cheap in a Dixons sale
7x50WP.FP Porro Prism - Minolta replacement for earlier pair with poor alignment
8x25WP Roof prism - bought as compacts to live in my rucsac
and all have worked well in their intended areas. (I wear bifocal specs all the time so eye relief is important to me.)

I also have a pair of older Opticron Countryman 8x42WA Porro which nowadays stay at home. They've got a little stiff, and seem heavy compared to my newer pairs.

Cheers,

Further to the above, Konica Minolta UK informed me yesterday that servicing of Minolta Activa binoculars is available from :-

Tokina Service Europe B.V.
Olstgracht 1

Almere
The Netherlands

Tel 0031 36 53 4 69 67
Fax 0031 36 53 0 55 61
Email : info " at " tokinaservice.com
Web www.tokinaservice.com "com" changes to "nl"

When I requested new eyecup rubbers for my 7x35s I was told that only warranty repairs are being done. (Very quick email reply but no help to me.)

So, bye bye Minolta...
