To me it looks more like a Greater Striped Swallow than like a Lesser Striped Swallow, but the distribution of the first doesn't include Tanzania according to eBird.

The chin of Greater Striped is much less striped, it is definitely lesser (see my photos here : GREATER / LESSER) ; your bird is young.

I suppose that is the reason then because the upper part of the head is so dark: It's a young individual. Thank you Valéry for the explanation and for the links.
