Swarovski price reductions from Monday 1st July? (2 Viewers)

With the introduction of the NL x52’s, I posted the current pricing for the NL, EL and SLC offerings (both in Euros in USD).

For convenience:

However, it seems that the prices for many may change from Monday:

Seemingly consistent with this, following the NL x52's introduction Swarovski didn't issue updated listings of pricing across the binocular range
(just flyers with the NL x52 prices).
So more to consider for those contemplating a purchase

And while EL x50 production has stopped:

. . . as of Sunday morning my time, the two EL x50's are still listed on both Swarovski’s European and US sites (and on Uttings'),
so a soft discontinuation/ last chance while units remain with retailers.

p.s. I cut and pasted Bentley's post because I wanted to include the post within it.
However, with Jan's comment I was unable to use the automated quote function. It seems that locking the original NL x52 thread has deactivated the function.

Thanks for compiling the info John! I would assume any anniversary pricing would involve U.S. dealers as well—SONA sent me an email on Friday about availability of the 52s through their site at $3499, same as dealer pricing—unusual in that buying directly from them is usually 10% higher at full retail.
I will wait until Monday to check for any price changes on the Pure 32s and 42s!

Correct, I hadn't noticed that before. When they lock a thread they really mean to end it.

From the announced prices for NL 52, one could either have expected others to adjust downward, or that this was an introductory promotion that would expire (which I don't think Swaro has done before).

Yes.

The truth o this is that Swarovski have got to much stock in the Warehouses, that's why they've come up with this 10% price reduction disgusied as marketing campaign to get rid of current stock.

Cheers
Tim

interesting - this addresses the anomaly of having the 42mm and 52mm NL's being the same price. Now the 42's are back to $3K....maybe it will stay that way. Otherwise those bigger NL's might cannibalize the smaller ones.

I think the best and most fitting way to celebrate the 75th anniversary would have been to release an updated version of the longest running product line. Including the 6x30.
6x30 ?
Swarovski don't sell a 6x30 ... Or do they ?

Cheers
Tim

Hi Tim,

In relation to 6x30 Swarovski's . . .

During WWII, Swarovski KG (the crystal company) commenced binocular production, and made around 183,000
standard pattern 6x30 Dienstglas (i.e. the Zeiss IF 6x30 Silvamar).

In 1948, Swarovski KG commenced commercial binocular production with a 6x30 model, based on the WWII production.
There were both CF and IF versions, along with lens coating (the then unique DV/ dual layer coating).
A 7x42 model, with the same eyepiece and prisms but with a larger objective, was introduced later in the year.

In 1949, both the company Swarovski Optik KG and the Habicht brand were registered, with 6x30 and 7x42 production continuing.
The 6x30 made until 1995, and the 7x42 is still made today!
(The 8x30W and 10x40W models with a new eyepiece were introduced in 1952 and 1954.)

Commercial production 6x30's:
a) The earliest Swarovski 6x30 that I’ve seen #20,182 (numbering started from 20k); from a 2021 listing on the Swiss sales site ricardo.ch.
b) The latest Swarovski Optik 6x30 that I’ve seen #A6540 28519 (so from October 1995); from a 2022 eBay listing by ewt1984.

For more on the early history and production, see the posts and links at: Early Swarovski Post War Models
And contrary to what I said in the thread, the 6x30 Dienstglas was the military version of the Zeiss IF 6x30 Silvamar - not the Silvarem, the CF version.

Interesting that no expiration date is specified for the Anniversary offer. Perhaps when all the biodegradable armor has sold off?
