Tick id (1 Viewer)

Norfolkman gone walkabout
Recently found this running across my arm while enjoying a shady bower in the client hills, my immediate thought was a deer tick but never seen one like this with such long rear legs! It seemed very spider like (spider beetle?) in its movement and had seemingly little interest in latching on for a feed while rolling it around in my hand for a close inspection.

The area where it was seen is frequented by deer and an active badger sett is very close by, the immediate landscape is long grass and partially wooded…I regularly walk in the area and have never previously encounter ticks and would like to keep such encounters to a minimum!!

pics aren’t great but only had my phone..

Matt

I think it's a mite rather than a tick.
Thanks

Yes, a little delving and image searches does seem to be more mite..closest match I’ve found so far is the clover mite, still going to give my legs a thorough check after wading through long grass!
