Hello patient moth fans. This week's bird poo tortrix conundrum from the Sussex coast could be -- depending on how I look at the reference pics and whether I squint -- Epiblema scutulana, Eudemis profundana (unlikely in a garden?), Orthotaenia undulana, Celypha striana (too white?), a worn Celypha lacunana (ditto), Lobesia abscisana, and plenty more I've ruled out due to geography, flight season or lack of tuftiness.
I have taken the hint and finally ordered my copy of Clifton & Wheeler, but in the meantime please put me out of my misery ...
Thanks all
