Tree Swallow Behavior (1 Viewer)

I have put up boxes about 400' apart in a meadow that are now occupied by tree swallows. The pairs interact with one another flying close together, but not making contact.
Is this aggressive behavior? Have I put the boxes too close together?
Thank you.
