Tufted duck or Greater scaup? (Iceland) (1 Viewer)

Hi,

Is this a tufted duck or greater scaup? Spotted in a lake with many other tufted ducks, but thought this looked slightly different, especially the greenish hue on the head, although I'm not sure if this is just an artifact. Its back also looks slightly greyish. Many thanks.

tufted duck. The majority of the head gloss is purplish here with only a small bit of blue making it appear greenish; the back is not pale grey enough.

The rear head shape is suggestive of scaup, but this is the wrong angle to judge it from - and the back does indeed look too dark. Got any more photos?

Agree with The_Fern and Butty- In my opinion a tufted duck; some constantly show a distinct greenish hue , in others it seems up to angle of light and others don´t seem to show this.
