The beak colour and length threw me off. Plus a different feather colourings. It's been sitting in the same place for an hour and in torrential rain!

Agreed that this pigeon is probably ill, but wondering if it is also an escaped "fancy" breed of some sort rather than a "normal" feral pigeon? It seems to have big swollen rings round its eyes, which are seen (alongside many other odd features) in some "fancy" pigeon breeds.

It was stood on the fence for 4 hours. And as you called it, a cat came along and sadly our odd looking pigeon is no more....
