Warbler in mountainous gulley in East Turkey on 5th of September (1 Viewer)

The image of a drab warbler in a gulley above a little stream with some tamarisks was made near Erzurum in north-eathern Turkey. First I was thinking of Marsh Warbler. But the white lores irritate me.

Hello Johannes,
I agree with you, its a Reed or Marsh Warbler for me, too. i wouldnt bother about pale lores like in your bird, giving it some kind of 'false ruffled' impression.
If the legs are really colourless grey (not horn hued) and the claws real blackish (you know, I trust your excellent pictures much), I would prefer a Reed Warbler

Certainly an un-streaked Acro for me…albeit one with seemingly short pp and contrasting pale lores?

Yes,primary projection and the greyish legs also irritated me. I have attached another image. the edges of the tertials do not show much contrast. Could it be Blyths?
