Water/Meadow Pipit - North west Poland (1 Viewer)

Hello

This afternoon I was standing at my bird spot and a couple of pipits flew right over me.. The Merlin bird sound recorder was running and it said it was Water Pipits, even it sounded pretty much like what I'm use to a Meadow Pipit says.. Meadow Pipit are pretty normal around here, even at winter.. Water Pipit are more rare and I have never seen them in this place, so would love to add them to my list of my bird-spotting place.. I have never tried before that the Merlin said Water Pipit, so I hope it's right?

I got attached recording here.. Maybe somebody is able to verify which one it is.. I can't really distinguish them clear enough..

Thanks for any input..

Curious what others who are more expert in European birds will say, I'm only a few years into separating the Pipits by call but it sounds more like Meadow to me. Where I am Water is much more common in winter and if I heard your bird flying over it would probably catch my attention...

Thanks for your feedback.. If the Merlin would have said Meadow, I wouldn't have questioned it, but I tried to run it a couple of times on my computer by the speakers and the Merlin says Water Pipit every time..

I have quite good experience with the Merlin app, even it's not faultless of course.. That's why I raised the question..

I by the way tried the Merlin App again and tried different flight calls for both Meadow and Water pipits from Xeno Canto.. Everytime it hit correct.. That at least makes me more comfortable that it's right with Water Pipit.. !?!
