Another Ol Donyo bird.

427) Superb Starling
Loving this thread. Sorry to bring bad news - but already on your list at no 351.

It might be worth setting up a list on something like Bubo - simple to do and won't allow you to enter the same spp twice. Could be worthwhile as you may end up with closer to 1000 spp, given the explosion of nest cameras, etc.

Thanks Martin. I'll adjust numbering.

It is time I set up a better tracking system. Will try to look at that this week.

Ol Donyo, Kenya

This watering hole just keeps producing.

Can thoroughly recommend the Blue-tailed Bee-eater cam referenced by Gander a couple of days ago - insane action with the bee-eaters and White-throated Kingfishers. Have also heard Peacock, Greater Coucal, and Asian Koel.

Summer visitors are arriving in Japan. Narcissus Flycatcher and Eastern-crowned Warbler on YouTube: who s - Karuizawa Small Birds and Squirrels Live. Bush Warbler and Japanese White-eye on YouTube: Yosshy 11. Also had a Bell's Sparrow on YouTube: Gallands Across The Lands. It looked a pretty naff cam in the Mojave desert with only the occasional House Finch until that gem turned up.

Sadly, I have hit a large snag with this project. Bandwidth usage at my offshore place of work has been reduced due to cost cutting. As a result, filters have been placed that prevent the viewing of live streams. This means that for three weeks out of every six, I will not be able to find any bird live on webcams. And of course when I am home, I spend a lot more time out actually bird watching.
I was tempted just to call it a day, but have decided to stagger on, albeit with a much reduced capability.

Truely gutted!

Hi Dave, I'm enjoying looking at these webcams! Do you have a link for the Yosshy one please? Can't find that particular one.

I am in the process of populating a Bubo list, as was suggested to me by @Martin Bell

It is taking a while, but I will get there this week. As I'm doing it, I am finding one or two errors. For example, as I have opted to use the IOC list, I have found that Yellow-rumped Warbler no longer counts, especially as I have Magnolia and Audubon's listed. I also found that I have two birds at 105, and have double dipped on Northern Mockingbird.

The Bubo list should, when updated completely, eliminate these kind of errors, although some of the bird name used on the IOC list have proved a challenge to work out. For example, Crested Coot became Red-knobbed Cobbler.

In regards to my suddenly imposed internet access restriction, I have found a way around it, but only on one computer, and at at very restricted times, so I may yet be able to add a bird or two over the next couple of weeks. There is also a chance that the restrictions will be lifted in a month or so.

In the meantime, please continue to post any recommendations of sites, I will make every effort to catch up on them in a couple of weeks time.

Transfer to Bubo list now completed. Total reduced slightly due to discovered errors, but at least I've got something in place now that should prevent future errors being made.
