I have several birdfeeders literally 10 feet from my back door. I want to purchase binoculars that will render impeccable clarity. I came up with the Celestron 8x42 nature DX. What are your thoughts

Compared to no binoculars those will seem like impeccable clarity. Just don't look through anything more expensive
;) In all reality they are ok if that is your budget. They are not built to very high standard and offer very little after sales support so they are not looked upon kindly here but they are ok for the price. Certainly better optics than the equally priced options from vortex. You get what you pay for: in the case of the nature dx it is entry level optics at an entry level price; in the case of vortex crossfire it is poor quality optics with an amazing warranty.

What is your budget? Are you going to observe in low light or daylight? Is the weight and size of the binocular important to you. Are you going to also use your binocular for birding trips? How long do you plan on keeping your binoculars, and is longevity important to you. Impeccable clarity can mean different things to different people. For some people a $200 binocular is good enough, and for other more experienced users only a $3000 alpha binocular will satisfy.

We can offer more intelligent advice if you tell us how much you are willing to spend.
