When do first nightingales arrive in Sussex? (1 Viewer)

Always weather dependant........forecast not too good for migrants next week but you may get an early vanguard.

I checked for Kent last year and my first record last year was the 17th April, most first sightings were in that third week of April. I imagine Sussex would be similar. The Kent Nightingale Survey is due to start on the 27th April this year. Obviously favourable weather might mean the 8th is possible but I think you're likely to be a week or two early.

Hi all,
I've just popped in to say that I can hear my first nightingales of the year.
At least 2 within a couple of hundred yards of each other.
This is just outside Lewes: (map coordinates 50.8647462, 0.1444574)
