I am going birding somewhere on Monday but not sure where to go
I am in Hemel Hempstead, Herts, and my brother ( I'm going with) said no more than 3 hrs away (as he's driving)
Any ideas will be looked at
TIA

Have you got anywhere specific you would say is the best?
Am hoping for somewhere I can get photo's preferebly

For photos perhaps Snettisham, then after that it'd depend if u want to twitch rarities, scarcities (keep an eye on bird news), no twitching, find your own stuff, or just see the special birds of N Norfolk eg geese, waders, raptors, buntings etc etc... 🤷‍♂️🙂🐦

Maybe minsmere- the area has several species that are generally quite hard to find in the rest of England- plus a shore lark is currently being seen there which is a very hard winter visitor to get.

Quite close but decent is amwell wildlife trust reserve which is quite a large lake/scrape with a river running by, should get your list off to a good start, also Lemsford springs wildlife trust reserve which specialises in green sandpipers is small but nice. I quite like Ouse and nene washes - not quite as far as the coast, and on the nene washes you have a good chance of seeing cranes. Fowlmere's a nice rspb reserve near Royston as well you could take in on the way.
