your comment was a dethhhpicable slur on a fine bird!!

Seriously Shelley, If I may be just for a minute, I can understand why it is none too popular over there. But you have to admire it for coping so well. And the male especially is actually a rather attractive bird. Not flashy or anything, not cute but it has a certain something.

Sthuffering sthuckatash!!!
I must say I actually do give the bird major kudos for being, probably, one of the most adaptable birds on the whole planet! But..... that's about where it ends for me. Some have the jackdaw or magpie as their bugger bird......
mine is that certain insthufferable sthomething :frog:

Peace Dude,
Shelley

The three all year rounders are the : Blackbird, Blue Tit and the Goldfinch. No Sparrows or Starlings although seen in the area.
Tanny

Right now for me it's:
1. Purple Finch
2. Pine Siskin
3. American Goldfinch
And a few robins, evening grosbeaks and black capped chickadees once in a while.

1. A. Goldfinch by far the most numerous.
2. Song Sparrows
3. Blue Jays

Of course there are also the Rock Pigeons that live in the barn and the A. Kestrels, adults and fledglings, that are buzzing around all over the place right now. Neither species comes to the feeders though.

Today ...

1 House Sparrows
2 Starlings
3 Greenfinches
4 Blue tits

I think it's time to keep this sort of log! Could make interesting reading later on.

How about taking part in the BTO GardenBirdwatch then? I've been doing it since July 1995, and still have all my weekly record sheets - and these can also be viewed online.

1. American Goldfinch (always the most numerous)
2. Northern Cardinal
3. Rose-breasted Grosbeak

I must be getting better at discouraging the bluejays! :)

Hi all,

Placing 3rd is the Collared Dove.

Placing 2nd is the Woodpigeon.

And the winner is the House Sparrow.

There's mine,

Steven

Number one and two are Tree Sparrows and Greenfinches, which total up to 50 and 35 respectively, consuming kilos of sunflower seeds! Next comes Great Tits, which in Lithuania, heavily outnumber Blue Tits

Blue tit,
Greenfinch,
House sparrow,

Does`nt really qualify but been getting a small flock of Ring Necked Parakeets flying over head recently.

Would have thought you were looking out my kitchen window except you missed the black headed grosbeaks. Yesterday had a wild turkey
