I would hate to go to see very little. I dont want to travel all that way and see a small number. I can live without seeing continental migrants. My focus would be more British birds. The reason why I want to go Saturday is work wise I am free and then I have a very busy week ahead. Do you think I should just wait a week or two and then go? I need to decide by 9pm.

It's busy when there are lots of birds around and it's quieter when there are fewer birds, Take your pick

You say about seeing British birds but spurn is a migration point. Birds are from all over if the winds are right and if they are wrong then there are few birds. Likewise people - it's so good that lots of birders go if there are birds likely to be present. Don't go if there is westerly in the wind, do go if there is easterly. Simple. It's autumn, winds change direction.

You've seen the advice above and so make a decision based on that. It'll be quiet this weekend based on the weather forecast, but you'll see more than if you stay at home, however if it was a choice between that or going another time I'd personally wait. Asking if conditions will be right in a week or two is like asking us if we think it'll rain on a certain date in September or if we think it'll be a white Christmas...
Just keep your eyes on the forecast.Thanks all for the help! I hope I have made the right decision to do something else. How far in advance can one know about the weather and wind direction?

For those asking earlier, this Saturday onwards, until at least Wed 11th, looks good for easterlies on the coast (if the forecast holds as it currently is).
I'm thinking of taking a trip to Hatfield Moors this week to ty and catch up with woodlarks .. Does anyone know if they are still around please and if there is any particular area which may give me a decent chance ? .. Common crane would be nice too of course but again, I have no idea where they are most likely (if at all of course) to appear ...

Hi Sandra
A belated thanks for the info. I see some Curlew Sandpipers are now moving back through Blacktofts, I think there were two there today. Always a classy bird to see.
