I just inherited my Dad's pair 8x30 7.5 degree FOV, made in Japan, and they are in really great condition for their age. Do you know anything about them?

Hi Glenn, I bought a pair on eBay during a porro buying splurge. From memory they were decent enough optically for their price. I have sold them on a while back.
Sorry I don't know anything about the company or maker.

No - but I owned for a number of years the Zuiho o.i.c. 6 x 30 individual focus copy of the Zeiss Silvarmar. I sold it because the individual focus was a constant annoyance, but this was among the sharpest imaging binoculars I have ever tried, and dramatically nicer than its Zeiss inspiration. Everyone who tried the binocular felt exactly the same way, and it would have been truly interesting to see what could be done with this glass with modern coatings. If this had been a center focus binocular, I would probably still own it.
