Identification
Male uniform grey, female browner with fuzzy stripes on underside.
Distribution
South America: found in south-eastern Brazil, eastern Paraguay, north-eastern Argentina
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Moist Atlantic forests in areas with lots of bamboo in undergrowth; to 1400 m asl or maybe even higher.
Behaviour
Usually not common and difficult to see, but may flock where bamboo is producing seeds.
