Identification

Pale and sandy coloured with a white throat.

Xinjiang (China) westwards to Turkmenistan and possibly into Iran.

Two subspecies recognized:

C. m. margelanica north central China
C. m. minula Breeds from Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and central Iran east through northern Afghanistan and Tajikistan to western China; winters to the south

Margelanica is sometimes split as Margelanic Whitethroat^[1].
