Identification
7·5–8·5 cm (3-3¼ in)
Both male and female hav green back and central tail feathers, three white outer tail feather, and show rufous on the shoulder of the folded wing.
Male is dark in most of head and underside.
Female has small white spot behind eye and mostly white underside

Compare especially with Stripe-tailed Hummingbird
Distribution
Caribbean slope of Costa Rica and Panama.
